Nothing like a little midnight madness...
And so it comes to pass that in the midnight hour... in the darkest of the night... when even the wolves and goblins sleep...
Ok - Let's get on with IT:
Here's the steps:
1. Acquire the Code you want to use.
2. Validate the Code against the Release Notes with an eye for features you use and those little annoyances we call bugs and issues... or whatever... the things that make a deployment go BOOM!
3. Ok - In this case, I am the guy who is breaking the code and working with the BU, so if I want release notes - I have to ask for them, one by one. Which is where I'm at now.
4. The Cisco MDS Series allows us to run a verification command against the image against our Switch in particular and then it does a comparison and tries to alert of any expected issues and also lets us know what is going to impact our environment and/or perhaps be plain hitless. Kewl stuff!!!
5. Then we run the Install All Command to actually install the images.
6. After the install completes we then move right along, check the logs and networks alerting and monitoring tools we have in place and Voila! Another one bites the dust...
7. Simple right?
